CROSSROADS Maldives Hosts Intimate Global Chef Gathering in Second Edition of “No Guests, Just Chefs”

Male’, Maldives -23rd April 2026 – From 16 to 18 April 2026, CROSSROADS Maldives once again emerged as a distinguished meeting point for global gastronomy, hosting the second edition of its signature culinary gathering, “No Guests, Just Chefs.” Building on the momentum of its debut year, the event welcomed around ten Michelin-starred chefs from various parts of the world for a carefully curated retreat centered on exchange, inspiration, and unhurried enjoyment.

Conceptualised by celebrated chef Dharshan Munidasa, the experience moved away from traditional culinary showcases. Instead of staging performances, it offered an environment where chefs could step out of their demanding routines and simply reconnect with their craft and one another. Across his acclaimed dining venues at The Marina, including Ministry of Crab, Carne Diem, and Nihonbashi Blue, the gathering unfolded as an intimate celebration of food culture, conversation, and camaraderie.

Chef Dharshan described the initiative as a departure from expectation, emphasising that the focus was not on presentation but on presence. The idea, he noted, was to create space for genuine connection over exceptional food and wine, while also presenting the Maldives as a destination that extends beyond its natural beauty into a vibrant culinary and lifestyle landscape.

The event also highlighted the collaborative spirit of CROSSROADS Maldives and its partner resorts, including SAii Lagoon Maldives, Hard Rock Hotel Maldives, and SO/ Maldives. Their combined efforts ensured a seamless experience for all participants, with guests enjoying the destination’s signature split-stay concept. This unique approach allowed effortless movement between resorts, dining venues, and leisure spaces, eliminating logistical barriers and encouraging a more fluid, immersive stay.

According to participating hosts, this level of integration is what distinguishes CROSSROADS Maldives from conventional resort settings. With everything within close reach, guests are able to fully engage with both the environment and each other, making the experience feel naturally connected rather than structured.

Beyond curated dining sessions, visiting chefs also explored the wider lifestyle offerings of the destination, from waterside leisure activities to the vibrant atmosphere of The Marina—often described as a lively social hub within the archipelago. Just 15 minutes by speedboat from Velana International Airport, the location offers a rare balance of accessibility and escape, making it well suited for exclusive gatherings of this nature.

The success of this second edition has already set the stage for its return, with plans underway for another chapter next year. More than a culinary event, “No Guests, Just Chefs” continues to position CROSSROADS Maldives as a destination where hospitality, creativity, and human connection converge in an effortless island setting.
