Finolhu Maldives to Host British Tennis Champion Jamie Murray for Exclusive October Residency

Male’, Maldives – 3 August 2026 – Finolhu, a Seaside Collection Resort, will welcome renowned British tennis champion Jamie Murray for an exclusive residency from 23 to 27 October 2026, bringing world-class tennis expertise to the relaxed surroundings of the Maldives.

A former World No. 1 in doubles, seven-time Grand Slam champion and Davis Cup winner, Murray has competed at the highest level of professional tennis for more than two decades. Following his retirement from the professional circuit earlier this year, the residency at Finolhu will offer him a new setting in which to share his experience, knowledge and passion for the sport.

Throughout the week, resort guests will have the rare opportunity to join Murray on court through exclusive tennis sessions and informal coaching experiences. Participants will gain valuable insights from one of Britain’s most successful doubles players while connecting with him beyond the traditional tournament environment.

The programme will combine practical coaching with personal stories from Murray’s distinguished career, creating an experience that celebrates both the technical side of tennis and the dedication, teamwork and competitive spirit behind the sport.

Murray’s career includes an impressive collection of achievements. In 2016, he became the first British player to reach the top of the ATP doubles rankings. That same year, he won the Australian Open and US Open men’s doubles titles with Bruno Soares.

His seven Grand Slam victories also include mixed doubles titles at Wimbledon and the US Open. Murray was also a key member of the Great Britain team that claimed the Davis Cup in 2015, one of the most memorable achievements of his professional career.

At Finolhu, the intensity of professional competition will be replaced by the carefree rhythm of island life. Surrounded by the turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean and the resort’s signature two-kilometre sandbank, guests can balance their time on court with ocean adventures, leisurely lunches, sunset experiences and evenings beneath the stars.

The residency reflects Finolhu’s playful approach to island living, where tennis can be competitive or relaxed depending on each guest’s preference. Taking place during the resort’s vibrant October season, the programme will bring together elite sporting experience and the freedom of a Maldivian escape.

The Jamie Murray Tennis Residency will be held at Finolhu from 23 to 27 October 2026.
